Product Description

BODY TO CHASSIS MOUNTING KIT ; SUITABLE FOR THE TRIUMPH SPITFIRE MkI, II, III, IV & 1500 ; YEARS 1962-1980.

We are offering for sale a NEW body to chassis mounting kit that is suitable for the above vehicles and includes all nuts, bolts, washers, rubber and aluminium pads to renew the body to chassis connection.

The design of the Spitfire model enables restorers, both professional and car enthusiast alike to completely separate the body shell from the chassis to gain access to carry out repairs, welding and/or painting to the underside of the car. Alternatively, a rotten chassis can simply be unbolted from the body and replaced. In any event, the chances are that the existing nuts & bolts will be corroded and the rubber pads perished or at the very least damaged when removed from the car.

Even if you don't intend to completely remove the body from the chassis during your restoration project, it is probably advisable to replace the existing body mountings anyway when you consider that they are likely to have had little or no maintenance since the car was new.

This kit is the ideal solution. It is supplied with an Identification Sheet so you can see where each component is to go so you are not simply provided with a bag of 'bits' with no instructions. All nuts, bolts, washers etc are UNF thread/size and have a BZP (Bright Zinc Plated) finish and the aluminium and black rubber pads are high quality machined products. All in all, an essential part of any restoration project.
